Situated in Klapmuts near Paarl, just 40-45 min from the Cape Town International Airport is Babylonstoren. The main attraction here is the huge garden which is set within 3.5 hectares of cultivated fruit and vegetables.
There is a small entrance fee to be paid at the front gates before entering the garden; card facilities are available.
There are daily garden tours at 10h00 which start in front of the farm shop. During the tour guests are encouraged to pick, taste, smell and touch while walking through the garden.
Opposite the farm shop there is a nice place to relax and have a picnic. There are chickens running around there as well as a few donkeys. The kids enjoy feeding hay to the donkeys and running after the chickens.
We were really amazed with the layout of the garden and the variety of plants and fruits that were in the garden. We did not eat anything there, however, based on feedback from some of our followers the coffee, scones and chocolate ice cream on a cone are really good. There was also lovely ice creams (suckers) made with fresh fruit from the garden that looked amazing.
