The Alpaca Loom is a really beautiful place in Southern Paarl. It is just a 40 minute drive from the Cape Town International Airport. It makes for a lovely relaxing afternoon. The Alpaca is such a tranquil, calm animal that is a joy to play with and feed. The kids really have lots of fun here. You can actually walk with some Alpacas as not all of them are behind a fence. The Alpacas like posing for the camera so you can even take a few selfies with them.
There is also a coffee shop there which sells sandwiches and beverages. The restaurant is not halaal certified. There is no alcohol on the premises. However, they sell ham, cheese and tomato sandwiches. There is a nice seating area outdoors overlooking the Alpacas. There are daily barn tours at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00. You can purchase your tickets at the coffee shop.
There is also a weaving studio in the coffee shop. Goods made in this studio can be purchased there.
Overall it is a very calm and enjoyable atmosphere for adults and kids. It is definitely one of the many hidden gems in Paarl, South Africa. For more information visit the Alpaca Loom website at https://www.alpacas.co.za/
