1. Hadramaut honey / Yemen Sidr honey
400 – 500 SAR per kilo.
Has many shifa properties.
Hadramout is in Yemen.
Sidr honey is honey where the bees feed on lote tree. However sidr honey can also be from the mountains within Saudi.
Where to find it?
Sold at health shops (known as Etharaa in Saudi)
There’s a shop on 2nd Floor in Makkah Towers / Hotel next to Nusuk
They have the Yemen one which is 400 SAR a kg and then the Makkah one, which they refer to as NR1 is 500 SAR
Seems like a standard price.
Carrefour shop in Hilton centre Makkah Shareef had a honey kiosk they have hadramout honey there.
You can try the “Attari” shop at Taiba in Medina, if you enter from entrance next to kfc, it’s the last store on right, ask for hadramout honey. Owner is Afghani.
2. Lobaan , not the type we know in South Africa
It’s called *mustaka* or *frankinscence*
There are different types and prices. Some are edible, others are for burning only.
Try the herbal store (Etharaa store).
Best one is frankinscence from Oman
Found at oud, attar, perfume shops.
3. Mint of Madinah
4. Myrrh
This is also to burn.
But be aware, it’s smell is not pleasant but it cleans/purifies the air.
5. Taif Rose water
It can be used to treat eye infections.
It can also be used as toner for certain skin types.
6. Ithmid Surma, the authentic one
Ask the shops in Taiba centre for the *ithmid surma* .
They don’t keep it out.
