Difference between Interrail and Eurail

“Interrail is for people who live in Europe/ are European nationals. Eurail is for non-Europeans.”

How do you buy a ticket?

“You should download the app and choose which kind of ticket you want. For example if you are travelling within Sweden, Norway and Denmark and think a 3 day ticket is enough. You buy the ticket and book your trains/ seats accordingly in the app. You can pause your ticket in the app e.g. after one day of travelling you pause it, and stay at a place & travel after 2 days. Whenever you buy the tickets, book your trains in advance.” The above information was supplied by @dr.aliawhs. Should I buy a Group Ticket?

“We booked a group ticket for 3 people, which worked out cheaper than buying individually. Also booked for use in several European countries. There will be options when you’re on the website. So you can use the same ticket to use trains in different countries.”

Important Seating Information

“Make sure that you sit in the correct class because we sat in first class by mistake. Fortunately, the guy checking our tickets didn’t give us a fine. We didn’t reserve seats, we just looked for open seats on the train. This also meant that we didn’t always get to sit together, so if you want to sit together then check for the option to reserve this. I think this is more expensive though.”

How to Get Discounted Prices

“One more thing, we travelled in December and got our tickets at a discounted price when they had a Black Friday sale. Subscribe to their newsletter so you can see when there’s discounted prices.” The above information was supplied by @tasneem.moolla. General Tips

“Download ‘rail planner’ from the App store and do your bookings and seat reservations.” Anonymous

“It comes in different packages. Unlimited and certain amount of train days within a certain time. Seat reservations can be done online or via the individual train companies themselves or on the app. Or it can be done at any train station in Europe as they are all linked” Anonymous
