Are you tired of unproductive downtime during your travels? Whether you’re waiting in line, on a plane, or commuting, these moments can be transformed into opportunities for personal growth and productivity. Here are 13 tips to turn your journey into a fulfilling and purposeful experience:
1. Set the right intention
Transform waiting time into a source of reward by intending to explore and ponder over Allah’s creation. Let your journey humble you and strengthen your connection with Allah, turning every second into a means of attaining rewards.

2. Make Dua
Seize the chance to make sincere supplications while traveling. Create a dua journal on your phone or in a notebook to keep track of the heartfelt prayers you wish to make during your journey.
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Three supplications are answered without a doubt: the supplication of an oppressed person, the supplication of a traveler, and the supplication of a parent over his child.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 1905
3. Write in a gratitude Journal
Start a gratitude journal on your phone or in a notebook. Use this time to reflect on and appreciate the blessings in your life.
4. Organise your laptop or phone
Declutter your laptop or phone. Take advantage of the lack of internet connectivity during flights to delete duplicates, organize files, and declutter your digital space.
5. Listen to an audiobook/Podcast
Engage your mind by listening to audiobooks or podcasts on topics that interest you.
6. Memorise a verse of Quraan
Utilize apps or websites to memorize Quranic verses. A challenge could be memorizing the first and last ten verses of Surah Kahf or Surah Mulk.

10. Read
Whether on a Kindle or with a physical book, reading is an excellent way to relax and expand your knowledge.
11. Research and read up more about your travel destination
Plan your itinerary and learn more about the history and culture of your travel destination.
