An eSim is a virtual (digital version) of a physical SIM card. If you use an eSim you will not need to buy a physical SIM card as with the eSim you can digitally activate cellular or carrier plans and be given access to data. I found E sims work better in some countries than in others.. ours worked perfect in Singapore yet was problematic in the Philippines
U have to buy a package for each country u visit.
Overall, Cost wise I found buying sim cards rather than E Sims , to be more cost effective(depending on the countries u visiting) & to work better.
